Starting Fresh...

Alright, I got a corrective relaxer and a cut. My hair was very uneven. I ended up with shorter hair cut than expected, but I'm getting used to it. There are pros and cons to this, but It's a good place to start. So with that being said, here's my pic...

Pros:

1. I can dust my ends with little to no problem.

2. It's easier to manage.

3. It's a better starting point than before (health wise)

4. Hubby loves it.

5. My color treated ends (which were the ones causing me the most heartache) are gone.

Cons:

1. It's flat.

2. It's shorter than I'd have liked

So now I have to get used to it. Of course this sets me back a few months as far as my hair goals, but I have a solid regimen, products, and tools so there will be less trial and error.

My Hair Care Journey Thus Far

Welcome to my blog! I'm excited to share my knowledge and experiences with all of you. Before I do that though, I think I should also let you know a little bit about me and my journey.

All through my childhood and early adulthood, I've had plenty of problems with growing and maintaining healthy hair. It wasn't until 2001 when I finally decided to get my hair healthy. With the help of a few great stylists, I was able to achieve healthy and full shoulder length hair by 2007. At that time, I ended up moving cross country and after breakage and a bad relaxing experience, I was left with hair that was nearly 4 inches shorter. In February and March, I came across a few great Do It Yourself Hair care sites. This was a Godsend! Since then, I've learned so much about styling and caring for my hair. I've made great progress in the past six months, and I feel that sharing my ups and downs with others will encourage them to start, and/or continue on their journey. So check back in often and see what's going on here!
